Illinois is changing its electric net metering policy effective January 1, 2025, and will no longer reimburse customers for delivery charges for energy drawn from the grid (after sending solar energy to the grid), and that can be about 40% of a monthly electric bill. If you install solar in 2024, you are grandfathered into the existing retail net metering policy for the lifetime of the solar energy system (30 years!).

Lock in your energy costs, take advantage of federal and state incentives and rebates, and do something good for the environment!
